With Tim Burton's live-action Dumbo re-do parading itself into movie theaters this weekend it seems a good time to look back at all the original animated films that've been inspiring these great big bloated things and take stock...

How long until Disney works through their back-catalogue enough that we can get Spike Lee's Song of the South with Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Remus anyway? pic.twitter.com/U5BbyVZfRV— Jason Adams (@JAMNPP) March 26, 2019

... okay maybe not of that one specifically. Although now that I mention it, a list of weird director / property pairings would be fun to do, right? Like how Guillermo Del Toro's been trying to make Pinnochio for years. Well... that's not for today. Today I'm keeping it simple. Today I'm going to list my favorite -- not the best, just my favorites -- of their traditionally animated films. (Meaning no Pixar and no Jack Skellington.)
My 5 Fave Traditionally Animated Disney Films
Beauty & the Beast (1991)
"Well, some people use their imagination."
Alice in Wonderland (1951)
"If I had a world of my own,
everything would be nonsense."
Fantasia (1940)
"So now imagine yourselves out in space billions and billions of years ago looking down on this lonely, tormented little planet spinning through an empty sea of nothingness."
The Little Mermaid (1989)
"Never underestimate the importance
of body language."
The Fox and the Hound (1981)
"Yeah, forever."

Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, and The Lion King.
Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty, The Emperor's New Groove - those 3 definitely. Then I think Aladdin and Wreck-It Ralph - although I remember thinking The Rescuers was delightful but I haven't seen it since my kid days, so maybe that would knock out one of those 2 if I watched it again.
1. Pocahontas
2. Mulan
3. Aladdin
4. Hercules
5. The Lion King
I'm a 90's kid.
"Beauty and the Beast" is in my top five movies of all time. Two would be "Fox and the Hound." 3. "The Iron Giant" 4. "The Last Unicorn" 5. Don't judge, but I love the music of "Frozen" and Jonathan Groff as Kristoffer is the hottest Disney "prince" ever.
Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, Lilo and Stitch and The Fox and the Hound would be my top 5 choices.
Oh Please! Frozen's Kristoff looks almost Neanderthal compared to the classically handsome princes of traditionally animated films.
Prince Phillip of Sleeping Beauty is the most good looking imo.
Pinocchio, Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Beauty & the Beast
