Look at that face! How could you not trust that sweet face? That's Adriano Tardiolo, who plays the titular character in Alice Rohrwacher's latest movie Happy as Lazzaro, a bittersweet fable of Italian proportions. I don't know what that means precisely but I like the way it sounds; it sounds right. Anyway my review is up now at The Film Experience - this movie screened at NYFF this weekend and if you missed it it's worth keeping an eye out for when it comes out at the end of November. I think it's probably Rohrwacher's best film to date, and I quite liked The Wonders. It's like The Wonders just without all of those terrifying bee-in-mouth scenes!
