Great Moments In Movie Staches

.
That's our old-timey fave Charles Farrell (see some previous postings here) in Frank Borzage's 1930 film Liliom which I have never seen but clearly this is a great moment in movie staches if ever there were a great moment in movie staches. The image comes via this Tumblr entirely devoted to old-timey movie staches and in related news I fucking love the internet, you guys.

Anyway I'm on a Farrell kick today because MoMA's screening a series of restored films from the Fox Film Corp. from the late 1920-mid 30s and several of them star Farrell and I'm so there. Oh and they're also showing a pre-code Adam & Eve comedy called Fig Leaves that stars muscle-hunk George O'Brien that seems promising...

Did you know that Liliom was what was musicalised as Carousel?

Somebody studied for their gay card! That was my first thought as well. And, now, I want to see that movie even more!

I think I made up "musicalised".
