True Fact: I have not yet watched any of the trailers for the standalone Han Solo movie. I've seen everybody's skeptical reactions and they've kept me away since I've been rooting for Alden Ehrenreich for longer than most of you have even known who he was (see way back here in 2011) and I am nervous for him. What are y'all's thoughts on the trailer?
Taking on Han Solo was always a great big risky gambit - I'd hate to see this talented kid get ground up in a malfunctioning franchise's machinery. I guess we'll see, and yes we will see - we maybe havne't bothered with the trailers but we'll be there in the theater like every single one of you will be too. i think MNPP put me onto him so i've been rooting for him that long too(god i love your site). I thought he was great in the trailer! but im not a star wars fanatic just a normal fangirl and couldn't care less that he looks nothing like ford. Anthony Ingruber, who played young ford in The Age of Adeline, auditioned for this role and does a spot on impression of Harrison, so it's not as if they didn't exhaust all their options.
I first saw him in Tetro when that came out so i have acutally been rooting for him longer (saw Beautiful Creatures just cause he was on it, that's how much i support him).
However, he is by far the worst thing that Solo has going for it, the trailers actually look good, but not only does he look nothing like Harrison Ford, he doesn't even look good.
I really, really hope it doesn't affect his carreer negatively. Also once the movie's out i might change my mind.
I think we're all feeling Star Wars Over-Saturation Fatigue.
I loved him in Hail Caesar! and think he has the acting chops to pull it off in Solo. I don't think he has to look or even sound like Harrison Ford, but does he have the Ford charisma?? We'll see!

I have loved him since beautiful creatures !! He's so adorable and I want to just lick him why he talks to me in his little southern voice :P
