I don't know if anybody who votes on the Oscars visits MNPP but if any of you do consider this a last little plea to vote for the best actor nominated for Best Actor this year. Performances like Timothee Chalamet's in Call Me By Your Name don't come along all that often. Be on the right side of history. That's a lesson even Winston Churchill could appreciate!

I don't know about you; I have an Apple MacBookPro for my computer. Yesterday I decided that, though I am actually in Chicago, that I was now in the Wallis & Futuna time zone, i.e. GMT+12. Therefore, it is currently Sunday morning there, 45 minutes after midnight. This means that if all goes well, 48 hours from now, I will be 45 minutes into watching CMBYN. Just sayin'...

I would love, love, LOVE for this to happen...but it won't. The oscars are shaping up to be very predictable this year.
I’m afraid ⬆️ is true. Hoping Laurie Metcalf winning for Ladybird will be a surprise, and I suppose Sufjan has a chance.
Sufjan hasn’t a shot in hell. His song is too delicate, too beautiful. The Acad always goes for bigger, more showy songs. This is one of the categories that rarely goes to the deserving song. Though they got it right with the Sam Smith one. That was a rare one. Coco is probably gonna win. Sufjan’s only hope of winning is to show up with his boyfriend, and come out of the closet.
In reference to above, I wonder who Sufjan will bring as his plus one.

Andre Aciman is on a book tour (tonight, you lucky Seattalians). In the brief interview with the Seattle Times he gives insight into his take on the reception to Call Me By Your Name and some of his personal experiences. It's a delightful short read. I would love to attend a reading by Andre Aciman.
Holding my breath for Oscar night though no biggie if no Oscars are won. Some many hearts were won over. Unforgettable.
