I know I don't normally post on Sundays but, well... you can see why I am already. This website from the Netherlands here has put up their pre-sale page of the Call Me By Your Name blu-ray (which they have listed for the end of June!) and the page includes a couple of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes shots from the movie, including this quite spectacular one seen here.
This is not a scene in the movie but I'm guessing it's from one that got cut (as opposed to just a picture of the actors hanging out on set, that is) and I'm guessing I know when in the movie it would've taken place too since Elio's parents clothes are the same ones they're sunning in when they have the conversation (which is in the final film) about letting Elio go away with Oliver before Oliver leaves for good. I'm also guessing that this edited-out-scene then is the source of this shot...
... which we wondered about back in October. This shot isn't in the final film either, but it appears that Oliver & Elio played underwater footsie with each other with his parents just a few steps away! Risque, fellas! Anyway here's another new shot of Armie on set:

It would be fantastic if there is a longer cut that came later. Of course, if it would flesh out the story more.
“I'm like you,' he said. 'I remember everything. I stopped for a second. If you remember everything, I wanted to say, and if you are really like me, then before you leave tomorrow, or when you’re just ready to shut the door of the taxi and have already said goodbye to everyone else and there’s not a thing left to say in this life, then, just this once, turn to me, even in jest, or as an afterthought, which would have meant everything to me when we were together, and, as you did back then, look me in the face, hold my gaze, and call me by your name”
I NEVER buy dvds or blurays but this is the only film I actually will for.
What movie is the title picture for? I’ve been meaning to ask and it seems like something I gotta see.
It's called Jason's Lyric, anon -- I've gotten asked that question so many times this week, I WONDER WHY ;)
Last night, I was having coffee at the café in the Curzon Soho, an arthouse movie theater in London. They are still putting on a daily screening of CMBYN three months after it came out in Britain. It was sold out. #takethatebbing
Amazon and VideoETA have the Blu-ray on-sale date as March 13
Read the book! It is much more beautiful....and GRAPHIC.
