41 DAYS

.
Hey everybody I forgot to mention I've got a screening this morning (finally seeing the new Ozon, huzzah) and so MNPP will be quiet til this afternoon. But hey look Amazon updated their bare-bones page for the Call Me By Your Name blu-ray with a picture of the disc, a new price (it dropped down to $21.99 from the thirty-something bucks it was a day or two ago), as well as official confirmation that the thing will be in our hot little peach-sticky hands on March 13th. And now that I've got a clicking timer in front of me don't be surprised if I run out and see the movie at least one more time in the theater before it's gone, adding to the 13 times I have seen it already... I mean that's an unlucky number after all...

Pre-ordered! This movie was sheer perfection, and I'm horror stricken that Luca want to make sequels. They will never be able to recapture the magic of this film -- a singular, monumental moment in these characters' lives that should stand on its own.

Ditto on that. As much as I crave to see Elio and Oliver together again, the film on its own is too perfect to mess with.

Jeez, they must have botched that release so bad. And it’s not even come out here as well. I wonder why word of mouth didn’t take on.

I really hope this gets a Criterion release eventually. It belongs there

I’m thrilled the Peach gets its own commentary!!
I think other films, featuring Elio and Oliver could be fantastic, if made with the same care as this was.
You don’t want to see their further adventures? You don’t have to. But... other welcome them!

They really botched the roll out. Timmy and Armie did their big charm offensive on the talk circuit in November. It didn't get released in a lot of places until the last couple of weeks. It had the potential to be a "Brokeback" hit. It was accessible, didn't have a ton of male on male action that make straight folks uncomfortable, and is a brilliant film. Definitely a movie people will be "discovering" for years to come, regardless of the box office.
