Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Mom : I know it's hard, but try to look on the bright side.
You may not be the smartest person in the world, but you're...
handsome from certain angles and you're... More importantly,
you've got dreams inside of you and dreams make you special.
And no matter what the world, um, throws at you, uh, they -
it can never take your dreams away.
Ronnie : What are you talking about, Mom?
Mom : I don't know, I'm drunk.

A very happy 66 to the great Celia Weston! (This side-note is for my boyfriend - she is from Spartanburg, South Carolina! I have been there.) I saw her waiting in line for a movie at The Quad theater a couple of months ago here in New York and I was so excited and yet even though I know her name I can never remember what I know her from - know how that one goes? She'll show up for a couple scenes in the most random of places and be reliably delightful though. Do you have a role you immediately think of when you see her?

Over the past few years, the curator from AHS: Freak Show. Prior to that, probably as the aunt at the very end of The Talented Mr. Ripley?

I *love* her, and I love that for around a decade in the Nineties and Aughts she'd show up in loads of movies for a scene. But I always first think of her in one of the last episodes of Frasier, "Detour", which is one of the best episodes in that series' long run (and also features Laura Linney and Stephen Root). She's just a delight.

I will have to second "flirting with disaster" Great movie and Celia Weston's racist southern momma with her two giant blond daughters is about as good as it gets!

Have to say as Jolene from Alice reruns on TBS, followed by most of the other movies mentioned here (along with KPAX (yuck!) and In the Bedroom (yay!)
