I was looking through the list of folks celebrating birthdays today, trying to decide who we'd glare at, when I was happy to see an old name I hadn't thought of in awhile - the South Korean actor Bin Won. He turns 40 today. In 2009 and 2010 he made two Great Films, Mother with Bong Joon-ho and The Man From Nowhere with Lee Jeong-beom, and then... nothing. He hasn't made a movie since. This is all old information - I did a great big gratuitous post on him in 2014 where I talked about his vanishing. But I'm surprised that we're here another few years later and still nothing. What a shame. Anyway I should re-watch Mother soon. Anyone watched it lately? Great movie, that. Hope you're happy whatever you're doing, BW.
