Good Morning, World

.
Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil anything of substance with regards to Stranger Things. I couldn't really even if I wanted to since I only made it four episodes in over the weekend myself. But thankfully for us all I made it just far in enough to get to Joe Keery's good-time high school gym experience (with actor Dacre Montgomery playing the creep Billy) so I can share that with you this morning. (See lots more of Joe right here btw.)

Don't answer this question but are they actually going anywhere with all the homoeroticism they're injecting into this story-line, or is this all just a nod towards the 80s source material (which usually had some homoerotic subtext like this) that they're always nodding towards? Anyway if the show was nothing but Joe Keery basketball scenes and David Harbour trying to lift a telekinetically immovable television set I'd be so down with that.

Hit the jump for more Joe & Dacre...

I despised Billy.

Why was Dacre Montogomery included in the main cast credits again? He hardly did anything on the show, his asshole character was irrelevant and had no actual significance to the plot--I kept waiting for Eleven to toss him around and bash his head on the wall or something, or that one of those Demogorgon dogs would just eat him alive, but it never happened.

Gabe,

Dacre Montgomery's Billy is the reason why Steve Harrington won the "Mom of the Year" award over Joyce Byers. Without him ****ing up Steve, the kids wouldn't have pushed forwards with their daunting task in the final episode.

Plus, I'm pretty sure they would fall in love with each other next season.

Also. It's "Demodogs" Gabe. Demodogs.

What's with the Billy-hate? I actually felt sorry for him. His homophobic dad bullies him. In my dreams, he is actually gay (explains all his macho posturing to cover it up) and has a man-crush on Hopper. Billy comes out of the closet and declares his love for the town's sheriff.

Billy is totally a plot device but I don't think it really plays out until next season. He's an asshole because he's gay and is acting out... that shower scene? My word!

I predict he and Steve have a "boy was I drunk last night" experience next season.
