You'll Come At Night Too!

.
I wrote a really positive review of It Comes at Night when i saw it back in June but to be honest it's one that hasn't hung around too ferociously in my head - it's sort of just evaporated as time's worn on. So it hitting blu-ray this week feels like a good time to revisit it, sort out my feelings again.

And perhaps you can help me sort out my feelings as well by heading over to The Film Experience where ICAN (never realized what a super acronym it has) is the subject of this week's edition of "Beauty vs Beast." It's the rare beard off...

I went to see "It Comes at Night" based on your review. Oooof... like watching paint dry. I don't mind slow burn horror ("The Witch" immediately comes to mind which is a brilliant film), but the problem with "It Comes" is there is no payoff. *SPOILER ALERT* Nothing actually... comes! There is no story whatsoever. I hesitate to even call it a horror film. More a character study than anything else.

I turned out all of the lights and watched "it comes at night" last night. It's a different kind of horror film. It was creepy and unsettling and I actually teared up. The dark and heavy cloud of dread got me. I loved it.
