The Lunatics Are Running The... Everywhere

.
I told myself I wasn't going to watch the teaser trailer for the new season of American Horror Story (subtitled Cult) as soon as I read the description of what the season is about - Sarah Paulson is playing a lesbian who loses her mind when Donald Trump wins the presidency - because what more does one need from life than that tagline? That is enough. There doesn't really even need to be a show. Anyway then I saw a gif of...

... Evan Peters humping Fox News and my will broke,
as my erotic fever took hold, and I watched it.
And oh ho my god...

... it was full of shelves!

Shelves!
.
And more shelves! I would appear between this and Darren Cross' itty bitty red speedo bikini that Ryan Murphy has decided to personally wish me, and me alone, well in life. I wish you the same, Ryan. As I do every eyar I hope this is the best AHS season ever! Watch:

AHS Cult premieres on September 5th!

While I approve of Evan Peters humping, well, anything, this concept is really effing stupid.

So is Twisty the Clown the connection to Freak Show?

Everywhere I read online the haters of AHS come out in droves. I wish they'd stop already. The key to appreciating AHS is 1. You watch because the actors are all amazing and they love scene chewing which, in the hands of a good actor, can be so fun to watch. And 2. I'm convinced the writers make it up as they go. It's like they have a skeleton outline then throw all these horror tropes at the wall to see what sticks. It makes for really disjointed and patchy story telling, but taken as a goofy experiment it kind of works as well. In addition, it's also one of the most consistently queer shows.

I agree, Aquinas. I think they either need to cut down the number of episodes OR the cast. If they HAVE to feature the same actors--fine. But these seasons ALWAYS fall apart around the fifth or six episode.
