They're Coming To Get You, [Your Name Here]

.
Okay so amid the great big list of Things To Do In New York Right Now that I am currently running through the most important thing is the fact that it's 11 days until my beloved Halloween, and scary movies are being programmed all around town, and if I don't get myself out to some of them and get myself into the spooky spirit I might go mad. Mad!!!

The Anthology Film Archives is screening a series of Fulci films (Oh how I would love love love to see City of the Living Dead's innard-barfing scene on a big screen!) and MoMA just announced the tremendously exciting premiere of the restoration of Night of the Living Dead (thankfully that one's not until November 5th, giving me time to breathe).

And starting tomorrow is FearNYC, a brand new horror movie festival! Since FilmLinc just moved its "Scary Movies" series to summertime this here is a blessed savior. FearNYC will be screening old classics like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Psycho and The Cabinet of Caligari and The Monster Squad (and many many many more) alongside several premieres of brand new horror flicks. Oh and they're doing a tribute to Wes Craven, too. It is really a fantastic line-up, check it all out over here. The fest runs from October 21st-27th at Cinema Village and you better believe you'll see me there as often as I can get there or my name isn't Vincent Price!
