Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... petting Josh Hartnett's python.

Is that a python? I don't know my snakes as well as I should. Well whatever it is, it's a damn fine euphemism anyway. Anyway when I first saw that shot from his photo-shoot for InStyle Russia earlier this year I thought that snake seemed photo-shopped in but now that I'm seeing a better quality shot (click it to embiggen) I think he really did cradle that snake against his bared belly. What a trooper.

But we actually have Josh news to share -- on Wednesday I shared some pictures of him and Michiel Huisman in their new WWI romantic drama The Ottoman Lieutenant, where I assumed that the film would be out sometime next year - well it will, officially, but it's actually getting a brief "Oscar qualifying run" first in December, or so says Deadline.

They also share the film's plot, which erases any admittedly uphill hopes I'd held that the film might toss a happy queer wrench into the well-trod hetero works; here's that:

"The film’s logline: “a strong-willed woman (Hilmar), who, frustrated by ongoing injustice at home, leaves the United States after meeting Jude, an American doctor (Hartnett) who runs a remote medical mission within the Ottoman Empire — a world both exotic and dangerous, and on the brink of what is about to become the first World War. There, she finds her loyalty tested to both Jude and the mission’s founder (Kingsley) when she falls in love with their perceived enemy, a lieutenant in the Ottoman Imperial Army (Huisman). With invading army forces at their doorstep, and the world about to plunge into all-out war” she must make a decision."

All I hear is blah blah woman caught between two men again for the billionth time blah blah wake me up when Josh and Michiel start making out. Or you know -- Oscars for everybody, whatever!

looks like a boa constrictor, but honestly most people just think, oh a snake run away, not the type (and unless you have owned one, you tend not to even care what type of snake it is lol) and even then its secondary when looking at the nice photos :p
