The Deer Hunters

.
Now here's a pretty spectacular bit of news -- Nicole Kidman (no, that isn't her pictured above) is in talks to join Colin Farrell (there ya go!) in The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which is Colin's upcoming reunion with The Lobster director Yorgos Lanthimos that we told you of previously. Nic will play Colin's wife. I am surprised these two have never worked together before, but I guess they've both been billed as box-office-poison so often that studios have probably been wary of thrusting their combined powers of that sort into one spot. Whatever - they can both be very fine actors, and I'm incredibly curious to see how Kidman shines under Yorgos' direction. She can do cold so well (too well, says Tom Cruise).

Finally watched "The Lobster" after your plaudits and enthusiasms and the Cuddly Colin bannerhead. I don't understand why this uplifted me and "Life of Pi" made me want to die, but that's how it panned out. My favourite scene in "The Lobster" - unexpectedly - was Olivia Colman and her Hubby performing "Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart" as a precision demonstration of conjugal love. I was slain with laughter. So savage. My Olivia Colman conversion experience right there. As to Nic, if she can handle Lars von Trier and Jane Campion, I reckon she'll feel right at home with Mr Lanthimos.
