Series 2 of "Happy Valley," where James Norton plays a murderer-rapist-kidnapper-drug dealer, just started in the UK. (Series 1 is available on US Netflix.) The role is pretty much the opposite of the sort-of-bland, alcoholic 50s minister he plays in "Grandchester."

So you can have good James or nasty James.

He does clean up well.

Swoon! Grantchester is not really that great, but Norton is so fucking charming and gorgeous I couldn't care less.
