Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Possession (1981)
Anna: Goodness is only some kind of
reflection upon evil. That's all it is.

RIP Andrzej Zulawski, the Polish director who's been enjoying a kind of cineaste renaissance the past couple of years -- I have only seen Possession (and I almost saw it a second time this past weekend when the Anthology Film Archives screened it here in NYC for Valentines Day) but I have tickets to see The Devil on Saturday, which the Film Society of Lincoln Center is screening as part of their Film Comment Selects program, which begins today. They are actually screening an entire program of four of Zulawski's films, which seems like fortuitous timing - read about them here. Anyway I've been dying to see The Devil and I think it'll play well off my satisfying screening of The Witch last night, from what I hear.
