That's One Big Friendly Giant Movie

.
It feels kind of strange to have two of my most anticipated movies of 2016 be children's movies about children being snatched from their beds by gigantic creatures, but here we are -- a few weeks ago we celebrated the teaser trailer for A Monster Calls and this morning the first teaser for Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Roald Dahl's seminal kid's classic The BFG has sprung! Watch:
.
.
The little girl looks promising! When this movie was announced I mentioned this but I was a massive Dahl fan as a kid and I've probably read The BFG twenty times, at least - this and The Witches and The Twits, they were my jams. Something tells me we'll probably never get a movie version of the latter - the big action is a bunch of furniture being glued to a ceiling from what I recall? - so I'll have to cherish this movie here and of course the stellar 1990 version of The Witches with a never-better Angelica Huston.

I know it's really childish, but it's going to be hard for me not to call this movie The Big Fucking Giant in my mind.
