Boogey On Boogey Man

.
I don't know if anybody else on the internet's gonna bother celebrating this so I feel its legacy at this exact could be entrusted to me, a person nuts enough to take notice of such things -- Ulli Lommel's 1980 film The Boogey Man is turning 35 tomorrow, y'all! It's for serious one of the strangest movies I have ever seen -- you might sit down to watch it, like I did, thinking you're in for a generic slasher with the title and poster and 1980 release date... but you'll be so wrong your head's gonna spin off its axis.

Lommel was one of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's most used actors and this movie is kind of what you might expect RWF to have done with the slasher template if he'd still died but then he became a zombie and then decided to direct a slasher movie. If that at all sounds like something to you, seek this movie out! You won't be sorry!*

*you might be sorry

Loved that movie! One of my faves from the early 80s!
