So What Brian De Palma Movie...

.
... should I watch tonight?

I just saw Noah Baumbach & Jake Paltrow's documentary on the director at the New York Film Festival (more on that to come later, but here's a picture I took of Noah for the time being) and I'm all hopped up on BDP, I need to inject some BDP straight into my veins!

But which movie? Any suggestions? Before you ask I've seen about 80% of his films before -- there are just a few of the very early ones that I haven't seen yet. But those aren't what I'm jonesing for, of course. I'm jonesing for DE PALMA, and you know what that means.

By the way, I'd forgotten how hot Tom Cruise was in the first Mission Impossible film until they showed clips -- is it Peak Tom Cruise? I think it might just be.

.
.
OK I'm getting off Mission (hahaha sigh) here - back to De Palma. He gets "Quote of the Day" honors for this bit from his interview with The Playlist, talking about his theory on how directors make their best films in their career middles, specifically Hitchcock:

"Torn Curtain is not really the greatest picture. And let's not forget The Birds with that model stumbling about."

I suggest SISTERS. I've seen it at least once a year since it was released.

I'd suggest Minority Report for peak Tom but maybe it's the plethora of muscle shirts.

RE: Scientolo-nope, I just finished reading Movie Star by Lizzie Pepper, written by HIllary Lifton, a thinly disguised novel about the marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. I think you will enjoy it!
