Earlier today I got the news that Jake Gyllenhaal was going to be starring in a couple of performances of Little Shop of Horrors this summer, one of which I'd already fortuitously bought tickets for. (The amazing Ellen Greene was enough incentive on her own, of course.) And now a couple of hours later I've gotten word (thanks anon) that my favorite slice of Belgian Beefcake the actor Matthias Schoenaerts will be showing up for the Q&A following a screening of Far From the Madding Crowd that's happening in just a couple of weeks at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, which I have also already bought tickets for. It was just going to be the director Thomas Vinterberg, but now Matty will be there too. After the shitty week I've had, the universe really seems to be extending an olive branch to me. Thanks, universe.
