Good Morning, World

.
I'll probably get shit, and deserve it, for lauding Tobey Maguire today after dissing the blandness of Chris O'Donnell yesterday, but I love Tobey and I miss Tobey and I wish him a very happy 39th birthday today. I don't really want to get into disparaging Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker either because I like Andrew too, but the Raimi movies were much better than the Marc Webb ones. (And yes it's true I liked Spider-Man 3, even the Emo Peter scenes.)

Speaking of Raimi did you hear that news yesterday about his possible new project? He's producing and very possibly directing an adaptation of Jake Tapper's book The Outpost, about US forces in a battle with the Taliban - obviously this would seem to mark a departure for Raimi - while we're all screaming for Evil Dead 4, he's going all serious on us.

You'll get no shit from me. I love Tobey and miss sweet adorable early-2000s Tobey (Wonder Boys/Spider-Man vintage) very much. Swoon.
