When I asked for Southern Italy recommendations last week - and I'm still asking, by the way! - commenter HenryK brought up Godard's great film Contempt, which was shot on the island of Capri. And from there it was only a hop skip and a ferry ride to thinking about Michel Piccoli's bathing beauty furriness, natch.
Sure he's no "Jean-Paul Belmondo in Pierrot Le Fou" in terms of hunky Godardian spectacles, but who is? Piccoli's certainly nothing to sneeze at. Now somebody get me access to Casa Malaparte!
