To the Mathmos With This Winged Fruitcake

.
Just in case you've been feeling a little bit let down by your nightmares lately I went ahead and tossed some fuel onto the sleepy-time horror fire for ya there by really lousily photo-shopping Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling's faces (you know it's bad when up front I have to clearly state the names of who that's supposed to be) onto Barbarella and Pygar, as a way to "celebrate" the news that Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn's Barbarella television series is inching closer and closer to reality.  Now it sounds like it will be made by Amazon. Martha De Laurentiis, whose legendary husband Dino made the original film, is helping usher this along with Refn - she's behind Bryan Fuller's Hannibal series (full disclosure - when I visited the Hannibal set last year I got to hang out with her and she was so unbelievably friendly and warm, you have no idea, I adored her) too. This thing is still a ways off, of course - Refn will be directing the pilot (and probably more, eventually) but the show needs a day to day runner still, and then comes casting and making the pilot and that then needing to get picked up, yadda yadda.
