Suddenly Last Bomer

.
In the exact same article that Matthew Bomer casually came out of the closet in back in February of last year, he also mentioned that he'd love to plat Montgomery Clift in a bio-pic. I said at the time, and I maintain this now, even though I love Matt, that playing one of the most important actors in the history of acting might be a tall order for a dude who's cut his teeth modeling fedoras in a lightly comic caper show on the USA Network. I mean bless him, aim for the moon... just don't piss on Monty's legacy while you're at it. (Pissing on Monty himself... well he would've been fine with that from what I've heard.) Anyway to the point ASL noticed that a Monty bio-pic has suddenly appeared on Bomer's IMDB page. (thanks Mac) IMDb isn't really one hundred percent reliable though, so who knows. But they're calling it Monty Clift, and saying it has a guy named Larry Moss, who seems to be mostly known as a dialect coach, is directing. Yeah let's just step aside and allow the world's largest grain of salt to roll here into the room beside us while we consider the veracity of this, until somebody more in the know clues us in. Until then... hmmm? (ETA Also making the rounds: a producer on the supposed film has confirmed Matt's involvement on Twitter.)

Have to agree with Prospero - it's wonderful casting. Matt has the looks and the talent to do this justice.

Nooooooooo! No Montgomery Clift biopic, please. Let him rest in the peace he didn't have in life.
