Listen, I love James Franco. I just wanna get that out of the way. I think he is a national treasure. But I do think he's getting in his own way in certain respects, and that's all I'm getting at with my piece on the Q&A that followed yesterday's New York Film Festival screening of his Cormac McCarthy adaptation Child of God.
