Do Dump or Marry - Three Main Blonds

.
As no doubt the entire internet will make you aware today, it's the 114th anniversary of Alfred Hitchcock's birth. We did a bunch of Hitch related stuff last week - there was the communal list of most memorable performances in his movies over at The Film Experience, and then I posted my own top ten here, and you can still vote on who you think is hotter, Carlotta Valdes or her mockery-doppelganger Barbara Bel Geddes in Vertigo (thankfully the latter is winning)... point being, every day is Hitchcock Day as far as we're concerned, so a birthday's mostly just a reason to see what other people come up with. Which I'm sure will be fun!

Speaking of fun, what the hell, let's do this - we lost an honorary member last week (yes it's a wig, but a memorable one!) but there several remaining members of Hitchcock Blonds Club still knocking around, and while I give love to them all (hey there Joan Fontaine and Julie Andrews) the three I'm picking seem to me to most typify his obsession. And to make it interesting, we're talking about the characters they played, not the actresses. Our three be...

Madeleine Elster, Vertigo
(not Judy - she wasn't blond!)
.
Eve Kendall, North By Northwest

Melanie Daniels, The Birds

Which would you go for a long train ride through a bunch of tunnels with, which would you tell to take a flying leap off a nunnery, and which would you carry over the threshold into your waiting car and ride off into the gull-riddled sunset with?

None of the above.
Grace Kelly was THE Hitchcock blonde. Shown to best advantage in Rear Window.
Brains, beauty,charisma, and talent.
The other 3 possessed some, but not all of these qualities.

Do Madeleine-too much baggage for any long term involvement.
Dump Melanie-The woman has deadly flocks of birds following her.
Marry Eve-Cool & elegant and by the end of her film free of all those troublesome bad guys.
