I Am Link

.
--- First End - This is really non-news but it's non-news I'm totally excited about - DH has a couple early posters for Edgar Wright's new film with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost called The World's End, and they say a trailer should be online any minute now! No doubt I'll post that once it's up.

--- DC Talks - I've been fortunate enough to see David Cronenberg speak in person a couple times now (I even interviewed him once!) and he is without a doubt one of my favorite people to listen to. There's no bullshit - just smarts, and humor, and enthusiasm. So I'll definitely be watching this ninety-minute interview with him from German TV whenever I have the chance.

--- Ever Green - The Playlist gathered up some quotes of note from director David Gordon Green at the Tribeca Film Fest the other week, where he was showing his film Prince Avalanche. I saw the movie there (although he wasn't in attendance for my screening) and have yet to review it! Shame on me. Hopefully this week. Anyway DGG says some really great stuff at this link, with regards to how fortunate he feels to be able to switch gears between high and lowbrow stuff.

--- Inside December - The Coen Bros' next flick Inside Llewyn Davis isn't opening until a couple days before Christmas - I call bullshit. It's screening at Cannes this month - why the hell are they waiting so long? I mean we all know why, to plop themselves down in the Oscar conversation. Which, bullshit.

--- Jedi Forever - There was a screening of Return of the Jedi in Hollywood over the weekend for the "May the Fourth" festivities - is anybody else kind of creeped out at the thought of this sort of becoming an actual holiday for a marketed product like this? No? Just me? - and Mark Hamill was there and he yapped a bunch about the upcoming movies and Carrie Fisher and yadda yadda.
