Brady Time

.
Every year the New York Film Festival becomes the Brady Corbet version of Whack-a-Mole - he keeps popping up at nearly every screening I go to. So I'm not surprised to hear he's just signed up to direct his first feature - he's obviously a cinema-lover. I guess it was either do this or play Spider-Man's best friend, and Dane DeHaan beat him to the latter. There aren't many details on the movie he's making save it'll be set in France and it's a period piece - what period? No idea. We've liked him ever since Gregg Araki's Mysterious Skin (our very first movie review here at MNPP!); since then he's proven his good taste by working with Michael Haneke (the Funny Games remake) and Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene), so let's hope that translates to his own work.
