Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

The Devils (1971)

Grandier: Most religions believe that by crying, "Lord, Lord!" often enough, they can contrive to enter the kingdom of heaven. A flock of trained parrots could just as readily cry the same thing with just as little chance of success.

Today would have been the 75th birthday of the great Oliver Reed. Hard to believe he'd only be 75 today if he hadn't died back in 1999 - he always seemed kind of old. A drunk, a blowhard, an asshole, a hero. On-screen he was often broad as a barn but you could scarcely take your eyes off him. His partnership with Ken Russell wrought strange excellence time and again (not to mention the first mainstream instance of male full frontal) but they were never better than The Devils, methinks.

Have you seen him in "Women in Love" wrestling naked with Alan Bates?
