Near Dark came out on October 2nd, 1987, exactly twenty-five years ago today. Happy anniversary! It doesn't get nearly enough credit for how influential it was. I don't think you can look at many vampire flicks today and not hear and echo ringing through the years from Jesse and Diamondback's effed-up family unit of bloodsucking psychopaths.
