I Am Link

.
--- Fire Fighter - There's been all sorts of back and forth with whether director Gary Ross will return to direct the second film in The Hunger Games trilogy Catching Fire (do you think they'll end up calling it The Hunger Games: Catching Fire? I think they will) and AICN did a decent job rounding it up and making some sense of it. He was out, and now he's not out, is the gist. I quite enjoyed his take on the first book so I'd be fine with him making the second one but I agree with the general sentiment that he needs to calm the jerky camerawork down a bit. In summation, Katniss Barbie!

--- Slave Company - A production company is apparently just now stepping up to pay for Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave, which will reunite him with Michael Fassbender after the dong heard round the world Shame. It will also star Chiwetol Ejiofor and Brad Pitt, and it is shooting in June.

--- Mutant Love - Speaking of "when Michael Fassbender movies will be filming," the second X-Men: Muppet Babies movie is supposed to shoot in January. There was some hullaballoo over arranging Jennifer Lawrence's busy schedule since she's got to shoot Catching Fire at some point too, but who knows what's going on with anything. It's chaos!

--- Sick Boy - I've been very upset to see Human Centipede 2 is now available on Netflix Instant - I want to avoid that movie since I found the first one so shockingly inept, but now I know a moment of weakness will get the best of me, with it sitting right there. Sigh. If only I had a will of my own. Anyway even worse news - the third film might star my beloved psycho-friend Udo Kier! There's no way I could not see it if it starred Udo Kier! Gah.

--- Bass Player - A couple more people have joined the cast of Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho (again I say, terrible title, change it) - most enticingly, Wallace Langham is going to play famed artist Saul Bass who created the opening titles for the film and helped to design the shower sequence.

--- All About Alfie - Read my pal Sean's take on the second episode of the second season of A Game of Thrones right here, and then watch his take on the second episode et cetera right here. Sean isn't guilty of this but I've seen some other recappers complaining about the amount of sex on the show and all I can say is, wha? That semen gag (ha) was hysterical! And my favorite little labyrinthine touch was that peeper on peeper on peeper moment. Buncha prudes, I tell ya. The day I complain about watching Alfie Allen's lower V thrusting is the day the world's ended.

--- And speaking of Thrones, here's an interview with Jon "swoon" Snow, the actor Kit Harington, in which he talks about his grandmother being "a saucy old minx" amongst other things. It's actually a pretty long chat - there are more words here than I've thought Harington was capable of previously. He does have a personality! He actually sounds kind of nerdy, with regards to the books at least. How he's kept himself from reading the fifth book I don't understand. Especially for someone so immersed in the world - how can he not need to know what's going on with his character? I don't understand!

Speaking of Fassbender, I'm surprised Shame pics aren't up yet.
