Eddie the Munster

.
Via Deadline comes word that Eddie Izzard has been cast as "Grandpa" in Bryan Fuller's Munsters reboot called Mockingbird Lane. Here's what they say on the character as envisioned by Fuller:

"Izzard will play Grandpa, the Munster family patriarch, a powerful, ancient vampire with an irrepressible twinkle in his eye. He can shapeshift into rats, wolves, and other creatures at will, but he’s also dapper and charming in a fedora; he is a Don Juan-type womanizer with penchant for flashy, sexy outfits. "

It's so weird to actually have advanced knowledge of something for once and yet to not really be able to talk about it, alas, but let me just say that I've actually gotten to see all sorts of production art for Mockingbird and lemme tell you what it is looking so good, you guys. I could go on and on about the costumes but you'll see. You will see! And the sets! Dudes, Bryan & Co. are really making this something special, I can't wait until everything comes together. Very excited!

Since it looks so good, you know it's going to be rejected by the public, right?
