Paint Me Like One Of Your French Girls

.

Dom news! Dom news! He's joined the cast of Summer in February, a bio-pic of the painter Alfred Munnings based on a book by Jonathan Smith who also wrote the screenplay. Munnings is famous for giving a drunken speech at the 1949 banquet for the Royal Academy of Art, where he was retiring as president, ripping apart Modernism and saying that Picasso and Cézanne and Matisse had corrupted art. That worked out well for him.

The film will deal with that of course, but mainly it's supposed to be a love story, a triangle involving a girl named Florence and Munnings' best friend Gilbert, who she marries, inevitably leading to woe and tragedy and somebody crying in a storm. You can read a review of the book here.

IndieWire says that actress Ophelia Lovibond has joined the cast, presumably as Florence. I've never seen her in anything but she's very attractive and presumably one of the British up-n-comers. Also mentioned, maybe to play the friend, is Dan Stevens who plays Cousin Matthew on my beloved Downton Abbey! I was just looking at a picture of Dom and Dan Stevens and Eddie Redmayne, strangely enough! See:

I told you I was. Mmmm. I should do a Do Dump or Marry for those three. Consider this your cue if you want to do that in the comments, I have other things to get to and this post is already taking forever. See, I also stumbled upon a new photo-set of Dominic as I read this news this morning, and it's a good one. So here those are, click them and they get very very large, the end.

Totally unrelated to anything except your post title, but it made me think of this:

The '60s Spider-man cartoon meme was one of my favorites of 2011.

*flails uncontrollably*

THIS NEWS IS THE BEST NEWS.

Actually, those two were in a BBC adaptation of Sense and Sensibility together, but they didn't share any screen time. So glad this is going to change.
