Take A Bow, Tenenbaums

.

I realized once The Royal Tenenbaums began at last night's 10th year Anniversary screening at the New York Film Festival that I hadn't actually sat and watched the movie from start to finish in a few years. I'd catch pieces on TV or watch specific scenes online when my fancy was caught, but for the whole deal it'd been awhile. It also got me to thinking about whether I saw it in the theater when it came out or not - I must have, but I don't remember having done so. These are the times I wish I kept better records of these sorts of things, since my brains always fail me.
.

Point being the movie, one I've seen numerous time all told, felt fresh and exciting last night on that giant screen. It's just short of two hours long and I swear I didn't even breathe the whole time it slipped by, so enamored am I with it from tip to tail. It's a damn magical little masterpiece.

Anyway as you can see from these pictures, director Wes Anderson was there for the Q&A along with Bill Murray, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Anjelica Huston. Doing some of the Q-and-A'ing was the director Noah Baumbach. And guess what, kiddies? I recorded the whole damn thing! I can't promise the quality won't be a little wacky - there was an especially stern usher lurking around yelling about no cameras that I had to evade with my wiles. But it's the next best thing to being there like I was, because I am awesome. The whole thing's broken up into seven parts and runs around 35 minutes or so. Enjoy!

See the rest after the jump!
