One Is Starved For Technicolor...

.

Ain't it true? It's been awhile since I was inspired to just post a bunch of pictures from a movie and have it not be a "Five Frames From ?" post - it figures it'd take a Michael Powell movie to do it. Watched 1946's A Matter of Life and Death this past weekend, and sure enough there's those colors so rich they make you want to cry. Let's just let our eyes bathe in the loveliness for a moment.

That movie is tragically underwatched. It's so beautiful, as you've demonstrated here, and so... Powell & Pressburger-ish!

Absolutely stunning. And Marius Goring gives one of the all-time great comic performances as the heavenly messenger. He's just perfect.
