Wicked Awesome Yes I Want It

.

I've been sitting here all morning waiting for some New York Film Festival news to break, we should be hearing the whole line-up today or tomorrow I guess, and the second I get distracted WHAM awesome announcement. Thankfully I know good honest awesome people like Joe Reid who keep me up with the good stuff and no bones about it this is as good as good stuff gets:

"Acclaimed directors David Cronenberg and Pedro Almodóvar will receive special Gala Screenings of their latest films at the 49th New York Film Festival, which takes place from September 30 to October 16 at the Lincoln Center. The occasion will mark Cronenberg’s first time at the festival, with A Dangerous Method, starring Michael Fassbender, Viggo Mortensen, and Keira Knightley, on October 5. Almodóvar, an NYFF veteran who is screening his ninth film at the festival, will be back on October 12 with The Skin I Live In..."

I should begin preparing my will right now because if I happen to find myself in a confined space, however large it may be, in which I'm sharing air with David Cronenberg and Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen and Vincent Cassel, there is no doubt in my mind that my brain will explode right then and right there. And it will be a glorious, glorious way to go.

Head explosion à la Scanners?

YES EXACTLY. And then a pointy sex parasite will grow out of my dead armpit. ;)

Brilliant! Have you seen Night of the Creeps? Your head could explode like that and the parasites could spill out (which look exactly like the things from Shivers).

Hey JA, I will cover Toronto for the Mortensen/Fassy front, and you cover NYC. Deal?
