Cassel Talking Fassbender & Cronenberg

.

Two of my favorites, all mushed up! These quotes are from a couple of interviews with Cassel at the end of last year - here and here - that an awesome Fassy site blessedly culled items of Fassy interest from - the two co-star in David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method along with Viggo Mortensen, of course. There are a couple of Vinnie pics I've never seen before too, including that one above of him in character for ADM. Bein' sexual like!

Film School Rejects: Actually, how did A Dangerous Method go?

VC: That was great. We shot that in Germany. I got to work with David and Viggo again, which was great. But I also got to discover Michael Fassbender, who I didn't know before. That was a discovery for me. He has incredible qualities as an actor and as a person. He's very playful, and that's one of a kind. On the set, it's fun and light.

FSR: What is the film actually like? I've heard someone compare it to Dead Ringers, is that accurate?

VC: Oh, I think it's like nothing he's ever done before. One thing about David is that, for the past three or four movies, he's reinventing himself all the time. From A History of Violence to Eastern Promises, it's... I think it's going to be very different from what he's done before."

FSR: What's the tone of it?

VC: Fun. Those guys were pioneers, and they were dealing with something very intense stuff. They were trying things and learning themselves. I guess, to see them learning their science and discovery can be both dangerous and fun, at times.
------------------------

Movieline: And you're working with Cronenberg right now?

VC: I completed the movie already. It's called A Dangerous Method. I play Otto Gross, the spiritual son of Freud. He would have been his follower, but he was much too crazy. Coked out, fucking everybody, having kids here and there and not taking care of them. He was really bright, but he was living too much what he was thinking about psychotherapy. He thought, "Don't repress anything, ever," and he would really do it.

Movieline: It's sort of an unofficial Eatern Promises reunion, what with you, Cronenberg, and Viggo in the film as well.

VC: You don't even know how flattered I was when he called me back in.

Movieline: It's a great cast. Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley...

VC: When I met Michael Fassbender for the first time... do you know him?

Movieline: I've interviewed him a few times.

VC: He's wonderful. He has charisma, he's light, he's talented, he's good-looking. I think he's going to have a wonderful career, honestly.

If you love him so much Vinnie why don't you marry him? No seriously marry him, and release a series of sex tapes. Now, please. But seriously, listen to him gush: he's playful, he's good-looking, he sucked my cock wonderfully! Oh there I go again. Anyway how promising does the exploitation - should I say sexploitation? No I shouldn't, nevermind - of Vincent Cassel sound in ADM? I think we can count on Cronenberg and him to give us a solid sexy creep, no? Yippee!
