Three From Utah

Gawker has an article up about ten movies that are generating some buzz at Sundance right now, and I'm going to filter their filtering article down even further by jumping at three of these ten films that especially caught my eye because of one reason or another.

First up as seen there they've got an image from Miranda July's second film The Future, which I talked about here last month when we first heard about it. It has llamas.

Next up is Martha Marcy May Marlene, which stars "Mysterious third Olsen sister Elizabeth Olsen" which is intruiging enough - they let her out of the basement! - but then they go on to say that "Sarah Paulson plays her sister, while Hugh Dancy and Brady Corbet play the men in their lives." Um, yes! And they don't even mention John Hawkes is in it too! Damn.

And finally, I'll just let the description of The Ledge speak for itself:

"A thriller starring Charlie Hunnam and Patrick Wilson, and about an atheist's argument with a conservative Christian that devolves into violence."

How am I not watching this right now? I should be watching this right now. Although it really ought to end by saying, "With sexy results!" Everything should end by saying, "With sexy results!" Anyway there's also a gallery of pictures from a bunch more films playing at the fest up at the NYT website.

Charlie Hunnam and Patrick Wilson? I could watch them play "go fish" for two hours and it'd be worth the $10 movie ticket.
