I Am Link

These links don't really even represent a tenth of what I could be linking to - for one I can't believe so many people have their shit together enough to have listed their favorite movies of the year yet. I've got several movies I have to see first, so y'all are gonna be waiting on The Pantys for at least a couple of weeks. Right around the time you couldn't possibly care less about anything having to do with 2010, that's when I'll strike. Anyway here's a random sampling of other stuff that caught my eye on my morning-scan-through today...

--- China's Cristian - Here's something happening I never anticipated writing: Christian Bale is going to star in Zhang Yimou's next movie. He'll be playing a priest that helps a bunch of people escape the Nanjing Massacre in 1937. The film is costing 90 million bucks and he'll shoot it right before he hops back into the Bat suit. Plus he may be clutching his Oscar right around then too, maybe...?

--- Heard in the House - John Carpenter's first film in thirty-eight years (or whatever, ten) The Ward supposedly stunk up the house when it screened at Toronto so it doesn't have a distributor or a release date yet. But it has got a leaked(ish) teaser trailer which you can watch at BD. Amber Heard is everybody's favorite!

--- Nothing Much - I don't know what this movie Say Nothing is - a quick scan of its IMDb page reveals it's a thriller-of-sorts about a girl going missing on vacation - but I do know that I clicked on this link to see a picture of the Aussie hotness that is Joel Edgerton and I was rewarded with this, mmmmm...


--- Wu Tang Green - Method Man is going to be in David Gordon Green's next flick The Sitter, that one where Jonah Hill needs to score drugs for his girlfriend - played by Ari "Balls Deep" Graynor! - while babysitting some tots.

--- Huggin QT - Nat takes a look at Quentin Tarantino's top ten list and wonders how it will parlay into his Oscar ballot. Love the visual of QT and Lotso Huggin' Bear. What a sap, that Quentin.

--- Colin's Hairy Croatian Torture - Colin Farrell is gearing up for the Total Recall remake, which equals this:

"I've got this hairy Croatian boxing coach who tortures me every day because I need big muscles."

I really hope there's a camera crew capturing this in depth. HD depth. Anyway that movie is filming in Toronto starting in March. It'll be the biggest budget film to ever film up there.

--- Andy Mann - Andrew Garfield is going to star in Michael Mann's next flick alongside Gemma Aterton - we're still waiting for your personality, dear - in a biopic about a combat photographer in the Spanish Civil War in the mid-1930s.

--- Avenging Alan - A couple of rumors about Joss Whedon's Avengers movie lived and died over break - Alan Tudyk is not repeat not playing the doctor who becomes Ant-Man. Boo. I rewatched Serenity over the break and fell for the Browncoats anew. And mourned that Nathan Fillion will probably never look that good again. So hot.

And secondly Jeremy Renner will be showing up in Thor as the Hawkeye character. Perhaps he and Chris Hemsworth will rub their rubber suits together a bit. Super-friction!
