True Grit For The Hunger Games

.

I guess that True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld is currently benefiting from a (probably publicist driven) whisper campaign to play Katniss in The Hunger Games movies. But even if I'm cynical of the rumor's origins I can't say that I'm against the idea - based off of True Grit's commercials, that is; I haven't seen the film yet unfortunately. But on the surface I gotta say... yeah, she looks sorta right to me.

Anyway I figured most of us will probably venture out to see True Grit over the holidays so this would be a useful poll to have up once we have an impression of the girl, and can come back and let our judgment be known! Judge lest she be judged, or whatever.

...with Michael Cera as Peeta, Jesse Eisenberg as Gale, and Justin Timberlake as Finnick.

I don't think so. I'm holding out for Betty White.

(Sorry. Pre-holiday sillies.)

I wish your poll had a "maybe" answer. I almost think she's too young but I've never seen any interviews with her etc so I don't know how she comes across outside of the True Grit trailers.

I heard that Hunter Parrish might play Peeta. I'm on board with that.

I've never seen HP act in anything but his prettiness alone has won me over. I know that comes as a surprise.

HP would be good as Peeta or Finnick. Depends on whether they're doing UK/Canadian-type casting, where the actors are approximately the same age as the characters they portray, or US-style casting, where anybody under 35 can be a high school kid.

HP is like Zac Efron, Kevin Zegers, and Chase Crawford, in that he's so breathtakingly beautiful that you don't really notice whether or not he can act.

Funny little HP skit here:

I haven't seen True Grit, either, and I hear she is fantastic, but I think she's too young. She just turned 14. I like Alex Pettyfer for Peeta...
