Whither The Wuthering

.
That right there is a portion of a promo poster for Andrea "Fish Tank" Arnold's adaptation of Wuthering Heights. I say a portion because the site that had the original image of the teaser poster has been forced to take the image down by the studio and it appears that the site where I found this image here cropped it down. Anyway there is also a brief synopsis, which remains:

"What would you do if you were denied your soulmate?

The passionate tale of Heathclith and Cathy (Kaya Scodelario), two teenagers whose elemental love for each other creates a storm of vengeance.

From director Andrea Arnold (Fish Tank, Red Road), comes a new take on the classic, a startling vision of desire and obsession."

Fish Tank is still sitting very very high on my 2010 list of favorites - it came out right around the time I did last year's awards but too late for consideration there - so expect to see it's name invoked a couple of times whenever I get around to doing that junk. I am an Andrea Arnold disciple now. I will follow her anywhere.

But the news that she hasn't even cast her Heathcliff yet is troublesome. Oh just hire Michael Fassbender, Andrea! You know you wanna. So what if he's too old. Nobody's gonna be noticing that if you just take his clothes off again.

Fish Tank is also still one of my favorites this year - do you know anything about a DVD? I have been looking around periodically but can come up with nothing... I wanna see it again!!! WTF is going on??

I wish people would stop filming Wuthering Heights like it's a love story. 'Cause it isn't.

Fassbender was pornographically hot in Fish Tank. Honestly, who can blame Mia?
