I Am Link

.
--- A Dream Delayed - Dream House, that scary ghost or something movie with Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz needs reshoots but because Craig's off doing the Dragon Tattoo movie with David Fincher it's all being held up til he's free again. That cast in a horror (or something, details are vague) movie peaks my curiosity, anyway, so I'm looking forward to this one.

--- I Am Jake's Pillow - Low Resolution's done a new installment of the Fall Movie Preview, this one seeing us through Harry Potter and Cher's Face and Jake's Giant Boner Movie and The One Where Natalie Portman Turns Into A Swan. Golly there's a lot to see in the next months! Which is good because there hasn't been much lately grabbing me.

--- Blood & Chrome - There's going to be a third Battlestar Galactica series. I am terribly terribly behind with Caprica so this news is just kind of stressing me out. This one will focus on young Bill Adama's battles in the first Cylon war.

--- Robot Smash - Once upon a time this would've been a huge post on its own but somehow I just can't work up the enthusiasm - Steven Spielberg's gonna make a giant killer robot movie. Believe me, when this thing's closer to becoming a reality I will get excited. No doubt. He'll never much up the idea of giant killer robots like Michael Bay has done, for one. We'll probably be able to see them! Imagine that. But right now it's such a distant prospect and we haven't even come close to seeing the other two movies he's been working on... with time, my excitement will arrive. For now, just a lil' piddle on the carpet.

--- Hunger's Heating Up - Didn't know that Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins was also writing the script, but apparently that's so. With some rewriting done by Breach and State of Play writer Billy Ray, which pleases me - he's a serious, adult writer. EW says they read a copy of it and talk turns to the rating for the eventual film, which was always gonna be a sticky thicket. A movie about kids killing other kids in extraordinarily violent ways? Slap her with a PG-13, y'all! It's gonna be a tight-rope fur sure.

Meanwhile PopWrap thinks that Jennifer Lawrence would make for a good Katniss. I loved her in Winter's Bone so she's good with me, I just worry about her looking the right age. Because of that rating trouble I know the people making the movie are gonna want to shy away from the youth of these contestants but it's such an important part of what makes the whole thing so powerful that casting older does worry me. Of course whenever we get into talking casting young that's when Chloe Moretz gets mentioned and I break out into hives, so...

--- Blue Lady - Speaking of Miss Lawrence, she talked a little bit about playing Mystique in the X-Men Muppet Babies movie and Slash has got what she said, sorta.

--- Anna Bananas - There aren't that many movies with Anna Faris in them that I haven't seen yet, but Waiting... with Ryan Reynolds is somehow one of them. But now after reading Craig's piece on Anna's work in that film - along with a look at her performances in Brokeback and Lost in Translation - I'm seeing Waiting... as soon as I can get it into my paws.

--- Green Space - This prep art over here for The Green Lantern is pretty bonkers, and if the movie ends up looking this trippy is really might be something special. It might be even more special if the whole "CG super suit" business doesn't get in the way of Ryan Reynolds reason for being put in front of a camera, aka his hot ass. Still so skeptical about that nonsense.
