I think this will mark the last instant that I allow myself to read anything about Black Swan, even though it's not out until December 1st. I just am gonna have to be strong. I can't spoil the whole thing. I can't! Reviews are coming out from Venice and Slash is rounding them up but it was this line from Variety's rave that caught my eye:"Aronofsky seems to be operating more in the vein of early Roman Polanski or David Cronenberg at his most operatic."
Way to name two of the quickest tickets to my happy places there, Variety writer. Even though Aronofsky's not disappointed me yet, did I really dare to dream of early Polanski or operatic Cronenberg? Of course I did, I'm spastic. But still to have somebody else verbalize said dream with an actual post-screening reaction only shoots my hopes out of a t-shirt cannon straight into outer space.
