Good Morning, World

.

Re-watched Strange Days for the first time in many many years last evening. Angela Bassett? Still kicks ass. Juliette Lewis? Still kicks ass. Ralph? Still works a rocket-pop like a pro.

The film felt pretty dated to me though. It's not just the Y2K paranoia - it's more the "edgy" mid-Nineties tats-and-piercings-and-leather sexy goth punk feel of it, as if they all just stumbled out of a Korn video. Also, it doesn't help that the actor playing the fallen rapper saint Jeriko One is Glenn Pummer, who is now only identifiable as James Smith, the man who tells Nomi that she burns when she dances. (More like she burns when she pees.) Anyway, sorry dude. Nomi owns you now.

I saw this in the theater and had the soundtrack. During my senior year i wanted to be Juliette Lewis and would reanct scenes from "Natural Born Killers" and "Kalifornia".
