Broken Mirrors, Broken Minds

.

According to its producer, the remake of Dario Argento's Suspiria to be directed by David Gordon green is still gonna happen. Indeed it's gonna film next Summer. And it has Argento's blessing. (via) I assume by "blessing" that means he gets money, because lord knows his string of terrible movies aren't making any money.

Anyway I have no idea what to think about this project. We've been hearing about a remake since May of 2007. I can't imagine Natalie Portman still doing it, now that's she's played some sort of psychotic ballerina for Darren Aronofsky in this year's Black Swan.

Speaking of, when the hell are we gonna see Black Swan? Or a trailer, or a picture, or anything? Me want.

Wow, this remake just seems like such a baaaad idea. I mean, what are they going to do? Have the movie make sense? Tighten it up? Have a third act resolution? I hope Gordon takes the title, but makes his own crazed, supersaturated color fever-dream instead.

That last sentence of yours Ivan is why I can't dismiss this juuuust yet. DGG is IMO a brilliant film-maker and I don't think he'd do this unless he had something of his own / interesting to do with it. Yet... it's effin Suspiria! It's confusing, basically.

Well, sure, if DGG is allowed to run wild, we've got the recipe for grooviness. But it's those goons holding the pursestrings that worry me. (I worry about this stuff so as to avoid worrying about my own life...)

Do you have any Thursday's Ways Not To Die from Suspiria?? That would be the epitome of harsh.
