Mad About The Mads

.

I'd love to say that I first fell for Mads Mikkelsen when I saw him smash Daniel Craig's testicles with an improvised testicle-smashing device in Casino Royale but there's documented evidence to dispute that statement - the first time I actually posted on him when he was cast in that Bond film, well before I knew of the delightful sadism to come. He caught my eye because... well I mean look at him, it's obvious why he caught my eye. I always like a hint of cruelty and strangeness in a man's looks - perhaps the word I'm looking for is "severe" (in the best way) - and he's got all that in spades. Love, anyway.

Anyway Mads is on my mind this week because he's got the biopic Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky (he's Stravinsky) coming out and there's an article and interview with him in the New York Times where they re-posted that familiar-chestnut picture of him shirtless and tattooed in another film, Valhalla Rising - I posted it way back in October - which also opens soon (here in New York in July). It's a good picture. Plus Clash of the Titans popped back into my mind after seeing Prince of Persia (they both sucked so similarly, Gemma included) and Mads was in Clash, s'all coming together.... sorta. Anyway, here's some Mads.

He is... not good in Coco and Igor. And, ahem, I don't find him attractive at all.

I liked him in Casino and never really thought he was hot until I saw all of these pics. Something appealing that is fo sho.

He's definitely a very specific, acquired taste, but I think he's really beautiful. Like a Dutch priest from the 1400s that will call me a witch and set me on fire, or something equally sexy like that.
