I Have 20 Bucks Can I Be A Producer?

.
Via DH comes word that Universal's dropped out of producing and distributing Paul Thomas Anderson's next flick - the one about Phillip Seymour Hoffman inventing a religion in the 1950s (previous post) - and he's currently working on securing 35 million bucks from some other company to get the thing made. Blah financial bull-crap who cares (as long as it happens and the movie's made, of course), what's really of interest is this:

"Jeremy Renner is apparently circling the role of a twenty-something drifter who becomes the leader's lieutenant and soon begins to question the belief system he has embraced."

Oh hell yes! Stop your circling and start coming in for the landing, Jeremy! You sign on for the Paul Thomas Anderson movie right this minute, mister! This is a man that has made four straight masterpieces in a row! You sit your ass down and sign on the line. Any line! Any line they show you!
