--- See Scott Soon - We're finally hearing some rumblings about a
Scott Pilgrim teaser...
Slash has info that it'll be attached to prints of
Kick Ass but only in the UK (boo hiss!)... thankfully there's also rumors around that it'll be online maybe by Thursday at the earliest, next week at the latest. Or you know, NEVER at the latest, who knows.
I'm dyin' here!
--- Soul To See - Yesterday we got confirmation that Wes Craven's set to direct the fourth
Scream, and
today we get a release date for his already-filmed horror flick,
My Soul To Take. It's coming out on October 29th, just in time for All Hallows, and I cannot tell you how happy that release date makes me! After years of the
Saw films being the only horror released around the holiday, it appears that
Paranormal Activity's success this past October has finally broken that spell! Hooray! BD's bitching about it at
that link, saying that
Saw 7 and
Paranormal Activity are both set to come out the week before and whine whine whine, shut up, BD. Three horror films released at Halloween-time is not overkill, you gigantic doofus. Anyway here's what
Soul's about if you've missed that info so far:
"From writer/director Wes Craven comes a thriller that warns us evil is working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And if you have any chance of beating it, you'll have to fight for your life My Soul to Take (aka 25/8). In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psycopath been reincarnated as one of the seven, or did he survive the night he was left for dead?"
--- Juice By Jake - It's been
so long since I've heard anything about the
Damn Yankees remake set to star Jake Gyllenhaal that I'd forgotten about it, and I'm surprised now to hear it's still being made. Apparently. The director's
talking up the steroid angle he's taking with the material... and heated visions of a jacked-up Jake in a baseball uniform (slipping out of a baseball uniform) fill my head... dizzy... dizzy...
--- 300 Squared -
Via DH comes word from Zach Snyder that the next flick he shoots will probably be the sequel to 300 which Frank Miller's currently writing, called
Xerxes. No word on whether the beautiful Rodrigo Santoro will step back into
the spangly loincloth again in the title role or not.
--- And finally,
this collection of horribly inappropriate toy commercials for the
Alien movies are completely awesome. Die, children, die!
