A Word About The Banner

.
.
The image for today's new banner comes from a memorable moment right towards the start of Dario Argento's Suspiria. The inspiration for using said moment for a banner came to me outta nowhere on Monday. And apparently I'd tuned into the same crazy frequency as Adam at Club Silencio, because that same day he made a post devoted to this same exact moment. What does it all mean??? Besides the fact that Suspiria rules, of course. That's a given.

Apparently the new region B blu-ray looks fantastic - can't wait for it to get a release here (or to get a region-free blu-ray player!) And is Giallo ever coming out. Horrible or not, I still want to see it!

I want to be a better horror fan and love Suspiria, but all I can ever seem to muster for it is that is use of color is just fucking brilliant. What am I missing????

Ross, I can only imagine how gorgeous thisw film would look on BluRay! Swoon. And same for me with Giallo, I'll watch anything Argento puts out, even though I have suffered so many long dull hours at his hands.

shaun, hrm, forcing me to step back and put into words what I love about Suspiria is difficult... it's just, out of all of Argento's films (and Suspiria's my favorite) it nails the dreamy fairy tale nothing-adds-up feeling that I want from him. Everyone behaves completely irrationally but also completely like they're in a slow strange dream. I just find myself hypnotized by it every time. The crazy use of color and patterns is of course a big part of that.

I don't have to ask anymore! And I'm a shitty horror fan!

(I used to ask all the time about the banners, under a different name. Like anyone cares, yeah.)
